Robotics Engineer (m/f/d)

Job description

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Robotics Engineer to develop the robotics software stack, assist during industrial pilot projects and innovate novel solutions to materialize our vision.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the development of the core robotics software stack
  • Conducting research and implementing novel control algorithms for robotic manipulation
  • Traveling across Germany with the startup team to test the developed technology in industry partners’ sites and iteratively improve the software based on user feedback
  • Innovating and developing advanced vision-based imitation learning algorithms for industrial robots

 

Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in developing the computer vision stack using deep learning frameworks
  • Train advanced machine learning models and benchmark the solutions

Position details

  • The position is from 01 March 2023 until 31 May 2024 with a follow-up option to spin-off with the startup team as a permanent employee at Telekinesis after the completion of the project  
  • The remuneration will be according to the TU Darmstadt TVL payment scheme 

Desired skills

The candidate needs to meet the following basic qualifications:

  • M.Sc. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), or an excellent B.Sc. in a similar field
  • Domain knowledge in the basics of robotics such as: rigid body motions, kinematics, control theory, digital signal filtering
  • Programming experience in C/C++ with libraries such as Eigen, Boost, etc.
  • Experience in ROS

 

These additional robotics qualifications will be helpful: 

  • Experience in Python 
  • Experience working with real robots, particularly industrial manipulators such as Franka Emika, ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, Denso, etc. 
  • Experience with Robot Learning, Reinforcement Learning or Imitation Learning 
  • Fluent in German and English 

 

Furthermore, knowledge in Computer Vision will be helpful: 

  • Domain knowledge in deep learning and classical computer vision
  • Experience with computer vision libraries such as OpenCV and PCL 
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
